Charges, payments and refunds

1. Prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars.

2. Fees must be paid before resources are sent out.  If students can not manage to pay the fees in full, arrangements can sometimes be made to delay part of the payment.  In this case, resources will be sent in instalments, and the full fee (including transaction fees for the full amount, depending on the method of payment), must be paid before the examination.  Details should be discussed with the Director.

3. There is no charge for payments by cash, cheque or internet banking made within New Zealand in New Zealand dollars.  There is no charge for cheques made out in New Zealand dollars.  There is a bank fee of $15 for cheques in other currencies and of $25 for payment by International Money Transfer.  There is a fee of $15 for payment by internet banking from a bank outside New Zealand, unless it is made to my credit card.  There is no fee for payments under $150 by Paypal (www.paypal.com), although there is a fee of 3.4% for amounts over $150 which are paid through Paypal from a credit card.  Please contact us for further details

4. Samples of material are available.  Refunds will not be given once the material has been supplied. 

5. Grade 6 students may if they wish send in answers to past papers since 2012.  The fee for marking these is $16 per question, $65 per paper.  Alternatively, they can order sets of past papers and sets of model answers from Piano Traders in Auckland or ABRSM in the United Kingdom.  Diploma (AMusTCL and LMusTCL) students may work specified papers and send them in for marking. 

6. Note to AMusTCL students:  You can download a sample AMusTCL paper with specimen answers from the Trinity College Website. I can send you specific questions from past papers if you feel you need to send in further answers for comment.  The fee for individual questions is $33. The charge for marking a full set of five questions is $140.  In Section B, only questions about the set work for which I provide resources will be marked.

7. Note to LMusTCL students:  The LMusTCL sample paper on the website does not have questions on the current set works, and no comments or answers are provided.  You are welcome to answer questions from Section A of this sample paper and send them in for marking and comment.  I can send you questions from Section B based on the types of questions asked in past papers if you would like to answer these questions and send them in for marking.   The fee is $38 per question, or $130 for a full set of four questions.  In Section B, I will mark only questions about the options (genre and set work) covered in the course.

8. Marking specimen or past papers does not entail simply reading the answer and giving a mark, as an examiner would normally do;  it is a time-consuming process which provides detailed comments explaining why particular answers are wrong and suggesting ways of improving the answers.
